Credit transfer means a payment service for crediting a payee's payment account with a payment transaction or a series of payment transactions from a payer's payment account by the payment service provider which holds the payer's payment account, based on an instruction given by the payer.
Credit transfer initiated electronically is any credit transfer which the payer submits in non-paper-based form, i.e. electronically.
Credit transfer initiated in a file/batch is an electronically initiated credit transfer that is part of a group of credit transfers jointly initiated by the payer via a dedicated line. Each credit transfer contained in a batch is counted as a separate credit transfer when reporting the number of transactions.
Credit transfer initiated on a single payment basis is an electronically initiated credit transfer that is independent from other credit transfers, i.e. that is not part of a group of credit transfers jointly initiated. Payments initiated ona single payment basis are further disagregated to payments via: Online banking based CT, ATM/terminals and Mobile payment solution.
Methodological changes in 2023:
Data referring to CT initiated via mobile banking have been due to methodological harmonisation with ECB in 2023 transferred from category Mobile payment solution to category Online banking based CT. This methodological harmonisation is reflected on data from including Q1 2023 on.
